OUR STORY

A Legacy of Service and Craft

Established in 1957 under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, KVIB has been at the forefront of promoting Khadi and village industries in Karnataka for over six decades. Our organization embodies Mahatma Gandhi's vision of self-reliance and rural empowerment through Swadeshi principles.

From humble beginnings with a handful of production centers, we have grown into a comprehensive network supporting over 50 registered institutions and more than 500 skilled artisans across Karnataka. Each institution represents a community of craftspeople dedicated to preserving traditional techniques while adapting to contemporary market demands.

Today, through this digital platform, we bridge the gap between rural artisans and modern consumers, ensuring that every purchase directly supports sustainable livelihoods and keeps India's textile heritage alive for future generations.
